M.C. Beaton (or as her real name is, Marion Chesney) is the writer of Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth.
Biography[]
Marion McChesney was born on 1936 in Glasgow, Scotland, and has worked as a buyer of fiction for a Glasgow bookshop, theater critic, newspaper reporter and editor. She married Middle East Correspondent Harry Scott Gibbons; they had a son Charles.She had lived in the USA. She divides her time between a cottage in the Cotswolds and Paris. Living in the Costwolds is how she got the idea for Agatha Raisin.
Controversies[]
When the BBC adapted Hamish Macbeth she was angry by the casting for the role as she said "I wrote a 6' foot Highlander and i got a 5' foot something Glaswegian" on the casting of Robert Carlyle.
