Season 4

Season 4 of Agatha Raisin was officially confirmed on May 29, 2020 by Sky One.[1] The season was later announced by Acorn TV on February 11, 2021.[2]

The season began airing on December 20, 2021 with the Christmas special Agatha Raisin: Kissing Christmas Goodbye on Acorn TV. The remaining three feature-length episodes began airing weekly from February 7, 2022.

Synopsis[]

The Agatha Raisin Detective Agency continues to thrive as there is no shortage of mysteries for our heroine to solve. Determined not to spend her time dwelling on her AWOL on-and-off partner James, Agatha and her happy band of misfits crack more cases including a jam competition that spirals out of control and a seaside murder that has links to a long-forgotten jewellery heist. However, when James finally returns, he has interesting news of his own.

Production[]

Having previously been teased by various cast and crew members during interviews and on resumes.[3][4], Season 4 was confirmed on May 29, 2020[5] by British broadcaster Sky One ahead of them airing Season 3 in the UK. Shortly after this announcement, Mathew Horne revealed that the season had already been fully planned and that filming for the first episode was about to begin when the coronavirus pandemic forced production to shut down.[6] Production was due to resume in January 2021 before being pushed back to March 2021, again due to coronavirus.

On February 11, 2021 Acorn TV confirmed the fourth season and released the titles and synopses of the four episodes.[7]

Originally due to begin filming on March 12, 2020, the season finally began filming almost a whole year later on March 9, 2021.[8][9]

At the beginning of 2021, Sky One included the season in their lineup of new original comedy for the year.[10]

On November 19, 2021 the premiere data was announced as December 20, 2021 and that the remaining episodes would begin airing in March 2022. [11]

On January 19, 2022 the remaining three stories were confirmed to be airing weekly from February 7, 2022. [12]

2. Agatha Raisin: Love, Lies & Liquor February 7, 2022

James has finally returned to Carsely and promised to whisk Agatha away on holiday where she can help him write his next novel. Agatha’s dreams of the French Riviera quickly fade when she finds herself in Snoth-on-Sea, a seaside resort whose glory days are far behind it. When a hotel guest is found murdered, it’s up to Agatha to prove who the killer is.

3. Agatha Raisin & a Spoonful of Poison February 14, 2022

The competition to be crowned winner of the Carsely Jam-Off has always been fierce, but when the prize jam is poisoned leading to the death of a judge, things may finally have gone a step too far. Determined to bring the killer to justice, Agatha resolves to restore the competition’s name.

4. Agatha Raisin: There Goes the Bride February 21, 2022

Agatha reluctantly promises to support James by attending his wedding. However, when a body is found during the morning of the big day, it’s up to Agatha and the gang to come to the rescue.
