Shortly after becoming the Mayor of Carsely, Ted appointed Mrs. Boggle as part of the neighbour hood watch.

Along with the Mayoress, he attended the smooth jazz charity concert at Barfield House where he struck up a friendship DCI Wilkes.

It was later discovered that Ted was secretly running numerous drug deals, having teamed up with John Dewey. John would hide the drugs in cheap dolls, which wouldn't draw attention to him as he was the owner of a vintage toy shop. Ted and John would later distribute the drug filled dolls to clients around the village, particularly at the singles night at the Fox and Ferret. (Agatha Raisin & the Love from Hell)
