Originally born Betty Ryan, Tiggy was able to successfully climb her way up the social ladder, monied on account of being a dog biscuit heiress. She became good friends with Charles Fraith in her 20s, a friendship which continues to the present day.

After her daughter received death threats, amidst the stress of planning the perfect party, Tiggy sought out Agatha Raisin's help at the recommendation of Charles. She opted to keep the police out of the matter to avoid the situation becoming public knowledge and her family the subject of gossip. (The Deadly Dance)
